Jill and Llee have called Puerto Peñasco home for the past five years, splitting their time between Rocky Point and Idaho. They moved to Rocky Point because of their love for Mexico and its people, and the community quickly became much more than a place they loved to visit—it became home.Jill y Llee han hecho de Puerto Peñasco su hogar durante los últimos cinco años, repartiendo su tiempo entre Rocky Point e Idaho. From the beginning, Jill and Llee have been committed to giving back to the community they love. They have taught English to local children, helped provide food to families in need, and supported local charities and community organizations throughout Puerto Peñasco.Desde el principio, Jill y Llee se han comprometido a retribuir a la comunidad que aman. Philanthropy has long been an important part of their lives. While living in Elko, Nevada, they served as co-chairs of a Boys & Girls Club capital campaign that raised $4 million for the local community.La filantropía ha sido desde hace mucho una parte importante de sus vidas. Llee is a CPA who spent his career in the mining industry, serving in senior financial leadership roles including Chief Financial Officer. Jill’s professional background includes mining and information technology. Together, they bring decades of business, financial, and community leadership experience to the Foundation.Llee es contador público certificado (CPA) y desarrolló su carrera en la industria minera, donde ocupó puestos de alta dirección financiera, incluido el de Director de Finanzas (CFO). When their physician friends approached them about creating a foundation focused on improving access to medical diagnostic services in Puerto Peñasco, they immediately embraced the opportunity. Rocky & Phoenix MAD Foundation grew from their love for the community and their belief that access to quality medical diagnostics can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.Cuando sus amigos médicos les propusieron crear una fundación enfocada en mejorar el acceso a servicios de diagnóstico médico en Puerto Peñasco, abrazaron la oportunidad de inmediato. Rocky & Phoenix MAD Foundation nació de su amor por la comunidad y de su convicción de que el acceso a diagnósticos médicos de calidad puede marcar una diferencia significativa en la vida de las personas.

Arned Hernandez

Born and raised in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, Arned spent his first eight years in Rocky Point before moving to the United States. He attended Arizona Western College and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on a baseball scholarship and went on to play professional minor league baseball for five years in both the United States and Mexico.Nacido y criado en Puerto Peñasco, México, Arned vivió sus primeros ocho años en Rocky Point antes de mudarse a Estados Unidos. Estudió en Arizona Western College y en la Universidad de Nevada, Las Vegas, con una beca de béisbol, y después jugó béisbol profesional de ligas menores durante cinco años, tanto en Estados Unidos como en México.

Following his baseball career, Arned spent three years in collections before beginning a distinguished 29-year career with the fire department. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to serving others, including volunteering for two years to train fire department personnel in northern Sonora, Mexico, and donating fire and medical equipment to communities throughout the region.Tras su carrera en el béisbol, Arned trabajó tres años en cobranza antes de iniciar una destacada trayectoria de 29 años en el departamento de bomberos. A lo largo de su carrera se ha mantenido comprometido con servir a los demás: durante dos años capacitó como voluntario a personal de bomberos en el norte de Sonora, México, y ha donado equipo médico y contra incendios a comunidades de toda la región.

With deep roots in Puerto Peñasco and decades of experience in public service, Arned brings a unique understanding of both Mexico and the United States, as well as a lifelong commitment to helping others. He is proud to support the Rocky & Phoenix MAD Foundation and its mission to improve access to quality medical diagnostic services in the Puerto Peñasco community.Con raíces profundas en Puerto Peñasco y décadas de experiencia en el servicio público, Arned aporta una comprensión única tanto de México como de Estados Unidos, así como un compromiso de toda la vida con ayudar a los demás.
